Evo 6 vs Integra Type R

I know i should probably go on a Evo or Integra forum but i am going to be buying my fiance an Evo 6 or Integra Type R in a couple of months and i wondered if anyone had owned either and what the pro's and cons are.

I used to own a 2004 plate civic type r so the Integra cant be hugely diffrent as regards power.

60-100 mpg - 9.36secs

1/4 mile - 14.52secs

1/4 mile terminal - 96.85mph

EVO6

276 bhp

1365 kgs

0-60 mph - 4.88 secs

0-100 mph - 13.10 secs

60-100 mph - 8.21secs

The EVO is quite demanding when it comes to services, brakes, tyres etc etc - not the cheapest car to run. Fast, handles, practical....

The Integra is a bargain to buy, cheap to run, fun to drive, limited rear headroom.

Both cars have cheap interiors.

I'd pick the Integra out of the two, purely because it's more involving to drive compared with the supercomputer on wheels EVO (which probably gets from A>B quicker but doesn't involve the driver quite so much).

Both great cars, two very different beasts though.

Which Teg is it the DC5? DC5 is supposed to be a more relaxed driving experince than the DC2 , the Evo will be a seriously raw driving experience especially when the turbo hits you. Id definately go for the teg if it was for the Mrs unless she's a complete nutter behind the wheel.

Ditto this quote , go over to the lancer forums and they do a running costs calculator for the evo for a year, basically you put all your details in, miles, insurance, service etc and its spits out the costs for you.

Good idea, it wont make good reading tho, more expensive than the TT to run for sure.

Go for the Teg whether its the Dc5 or DC2, the Dc2 is fantastic value for money and the Dc5 is a great rare modern car.

id go for the Integra too, i used to be a honda salesman. and the integra R are realy good fun, but they are nothing like your old civic R, they have the older vtec system in those cars, and they need to be reved like a bike. but any old lady could drive them, plus it wont brake down.

hope that helps.

evo for me altho im buyest because i have an evo 8 lol be prepared for the the servicing every 4500 miles or 6months whichever comes first.

integra has a more raw feeling and are very bumpy and noisy..not a comfortable car.

nothing beats the turbo kick.... go for the evo
