Soonto_HAS_soop
Has one included, just set it to cap voltage at 4.4v and it's all good.
Alex
Yep just as Ben says. However with bigger injectors you'll probably not need the Fuel Cut feature anyway
Soonto_HAS_soop
Surely it is boost relatd though Alex, so whatever sized injectors you had the ECU would want to stop the fuel.
Alex
The EMB is always throttling the signal back because you've got bigger injectors and you want them to open for less time so as the voltage is pegged back in this way you won't need fuel cut till you get towards maaxing out the bigger injectors. Soonto_HAS_soop
So I could remove my 4.4v cut now that I have upgraded to 680's then?
Alex
I would always leave it in...but I'm just saying that technically you shouldn't need it if you run larger injectors.
JohnK
For future reference (anyone getting this in a search) The FCD function of the EMB does not work on UK spec cars (maybe VVTI too). This is due to the UK having a MAF, which is what the EMB alters for the airflow map and the fuel cut running off the MAP sensor.
Alex
John, Have you tried disconnecting the MAP vac hose on a UK spec? I did it on my VVTi...as it ONLY controls the Fuel Cut on the VVTi (and the UK spec I think).
dandan
Does anyone know if there's any barometric correction made initially by the ecu when you ign on?
Ian C
Anything over 4.44v = fuel cut. That means the stock ECU is seeing over 1bar of boost. At 0.98bar boost it runs the injectors at 100% duty. Ergo, if you are seeing fuel cut then your injectors are at 100% duty. This is why you shouldn't need any form of fuel cut defense with bigger injectors, because you are pulling enough airflow signal to trim your injectors back that you don't even get near a 0.98bar reaching the ECU. If you ever need 100% duty cycle then a) you'll need the FCD function and b) you chose poorly on the injector front It doesn't hurt to leave it in though, every map I've done has got it set to 4.40v. UK specs you just pull the vac hose off the MAP sensor, as Alex says And, obviously, block it up. -Ian
JohnK
I just kept the FCD wired in.
