RedM
I've been trying to find some mp3s using Jakes Google method but I'm guessing that Google have put a stop to this fearing legal action. Any other ways without resorting to p2p stuff? Looking for Fear Factory stuff as, for reasons unknown, the track 'Machines of Hate' popped into my head in the lunch queue. garetheves
Bit Torrents are my fav. Download Azureus and the latest Java from here : http://azureus.sourceforge.net/ Then use websites such as: http://www.isohunt.com/ http://www.mininova.org/ http://www.meganova.org/subcat/50.html http://thepiratebay.org/ to search for the files you want. Once selected, click the link and open it using Azureus. It will then download. Easy Peasy.
UltraFlynn
Pirate Bay are the one to use. They have recently been pulled over by the Swedish police and got away with it. (Hence why their site is now titled "The Pheonix Bay") All totally legal on their site. They also hold no records of who downloads/seeds what, so no comebacks. It's the only one I'll use. (The others are good too though)
RedM
Just tried Azureus to download a FF cd. 2 days and 3hrs. I don't think so!
garetheves
Youve either got a firewall set up that is slowing the connection down, or you have selected a file that not many people are sharing. If you do another search for the same CD, look on the right hand side of the results and you will seee 2 columns: S and L (Seeds and Leachers). Basically, the seeds are the number of people sharing the file and the leachers are the people downloading it. Obviously if you have a low S and a high L then there are more people downloading it than sharing, and you will get crap connection speeds. Try and pick one that has a high S to L ratio. Another thing to try is completely close down Azureus, and then restart it. It may pick up speed if it starts downloading from another source. Trouble is that result, that torrent, that whatever, was a download consisting of the bands entire catalogue. 559mb! Get outta here. Comprendez? Nic
I use Acquisition (Gnutella & Bitorrent) P2P, but it is only available for Mac. Just did a search for Fear Factory and got 640 matches and counting. http://img71.imageshack.us/img71/4864/picture98as.png
