Bobbeh
It went over him, he totally misjudged it, but if only we had someone on the back post it wouldnt have been an issue, Ashley cole seemed to be coming away from the post to the middle of the goal with his back to the ball! Kopite
General attacking play wasn't there either. Not playing as a team, just a group of individuals. The 2 Cole's link well but that's it.
chilli
But i think the point of it is that we need to start looking at our set pieces and defence, it was very nervous and shoddy. so true, we always look nervous though? lol - it's as if everyone is uncertain of who is covering what. much more practice needed, no way we stand a chance of getting close to the final with defence expoited as easily as that... sooper-supra
Hmmm. It's very easy to say what if. But i think the point of it is that we need to start looking at our set pieces and defence, it was very nervous and shoddy.
Whitesupraboy2
encouraging that shooting from outside the box seems our strongest way of scoring! we had good defending....good attacking. All we got to do now is make it last longer then 30 second stints!!
sooper-supra
and tbh crouch doesnt seem to know what he really is doing when he get the ball he needs to think more..
Kopite
Crouch needs the support from midfield like he gets at Liverpool. Didnt get that tonight. I'd still play Gerrard as a second striker behind him if Rooney isn't getting risked, Lampfart and Hargreaves/Carrick in the middle. If only Scott Parker was there
Bobbeh
I wouldnt have a go at crouch, he played well considering he was sprung to play without warning. It just got on my tits as he was the long ball target most of the time.. why done we play it from the back like every other talented team. I also think that England thinks good ball possession is kicking around the back 4 and the goaly for 5 mins.
Jezz
Whats worrying is we havent really seen theo walcot play, and i think tonight would have been ideal to give him some time on, not needing a win and all that. It now means his first game will be in a knockout situation! I really hope he's all he's cracked up to be!

He's actually better with the ball on the floor than he is in the air.
Mike
well for me it was poor old Ashley Cole on the back post.. can't complain about the job he did but if things get 'that bad' you really need a big fella on the back post i.e Rio Ferdinand, to defend it... sorry to say both goals were his fault... ..but as Ro points out.. yeah, we didn't beat them which is a bit of a shame, but we did win the group and avoid those dastardly Germans... I thought we played probably the best I've even seen us play in the first half..

Bobbeh
I really hope he's all he's cracked up to be! You know what, I dont think they'll even play him, I dont he'll have the guts to bring him on, instead do what he did today and flood the midfield. Also, anyone else thing Carragher looks really uneasy playing where he is?

DamanC
After last nights performance England dont deserve to progress much further let alone win the tournament. Sven is an idiot, if i was defoe or bent i would be fuming! why didnt he take 5? and if this Teo wallknob is really all that whay hasnt he been used? Whats the point in taking a player sven has no faith in. Our defence was terrible last night, just simply couldnt defend cross's/set plays. That desperately needs working on. Lampard is NOT on form at the moment, week in, week out he will put goals away, he has had so many chances and just keeps fluffing them. Get Gearrard back in quick! Rant over, good luck to them. Hope they live up to this 2nd ranking *sigh*
imi
Wait till England face Argentina or Germany.....thats going to be a right kicking....LOL Englands seem to miss far too many chances, the finishing simply isnt there. apart from the 20-30 yard strikes (that were amazing)
