Ian W
i'm fairly sure your rears are okay but the front should actually be 225/40r18.

jamesmark
The tyre's on the rear's should be round and black in colour. Oh and 235 on the front if your a TT,

super_supra
255 on the front??? Unless you pushing serious BHP then the drag on that car must be awful its always had 255 on the front so dont know any diffrent but seems to drive ok to me. i would change them but there only 5-6months old so they are like new still but when the wear out i will try some thinner ones. what should i put on the rear 275 ok? as that is whats on now

Wez
Is it not always the case of bigger is better. Just an idea but if you run a larger width tyre you are increasing drag which has already been mentioned but you are also spreading the weight of the car over a larger area. Its like wearing snow shoes and trainers, by spreading the weight you are applying less pressure, i think this is why rally cars use very small tyre widths, F1 cars have massive tyres but also extreme downforce pushing them into the ground. I noticed the rear became more unpredictable when i increased the tyre to 275 from stock 255, I have always had the front on 235, all on stock 17" wheels. Need4Speed
Have I missed something or has there been no mention of what rim widths we're taking about?
chris aka fonz
I run 285's on the rear on 18's, but there stretched at that , should really be bigger ! the wider the tyre the more grip between car and road and in a supra grip can only be a good thing surely ! super_supra
Have I missed something or has there been no mention of what rim widths we're taking about? think the fronts 9.5 and the rear 10.5 just a ruff measure on the inside if the rim with tape measure
