michael
PPP!!! While our attention has been diverted to the problem of petrol prices we haven't noticed the rising cost of the humble pork pie Gone at the happy days of a freshly baked 40p pie from 'Stanforth's Famous Pies' in Skipton, it's now the norm to pay a whole English pound (or more) for a simple supermarket attempt. Shocking!!!!

michael
http://www.jstanforth.co.uk/ That's good news at least, my favourites are still only 43p. It goes to show how much extra you pay for some plastic wrapping, a lorry and a mentalist putting it on a shelf. Best pies ever, many a school blazer was soaked in the warm juices of a fresh pie. SupraAyf
Good point mate. There's also the North/South divide issue. I'm not a pork pie lover like yourself but instead a tasty cheese'n'onion pasty is my chosen delicacy. Prices in London are £2.10 for 2; Southampton is £1.50 and the North East of England is just over a quid for 2 succulent beauty's. Hope its not the same for Supe parts or else I'm migrating up North!! PPP!!! michael
I know what you are saying but the good local pies sell out in no time, all the OAP's are munching them mid morning That's because they can't afford the ones in the supermarket, if we get those down in price old Alf and Betty can pop those in the basket along with their brisket and rich tea biscuits, this leaves the good stuff for those of use who still have the tastebuds to appreciate them.
