Nick
Although having said that at least you'd be able to open the friggin door when you park, the spaces in this country are so bloody small....
MONKEYmark
hehehe nowt like drawing attention to yourself i like the plain and clean look. like when you see a mk1 golf de trimmed de handled and smooth lines and a clean paint finish. its getting a bit like max power over here, you only have to see these mad cars with paint off arcade machines with little sparkle bits. like that mad skyline with wide wheels and crazy paint. it sure gets noticed, that veilside space car supra looks too mad. its weird how your taste change over the years

CJ
I think they look the dogz and would seiously consider fitting them. Whether I could fit in is another matter!
TLicense
Nope, changed my mind. After seeing the pic of the supra with them, and really thinking about it (OK well thinking about it whilst reading the posts) I've decided against it. Well to be honest it was two pictures that changed my mind. The first one was a ford escort I think it was with these. The second one was the gull winged supra. (Anything that starts to put me in any kind of contention with that kind of styling, is bad in my book. It looks rubbish - IMHO of course ). I'm not angry at myself just dissapointed. We really do need a rice, I mean styling section.
far
Originally posted by mcanny Ignore the half finished website - these chaps can help you: http://www.typekstyling.co.uk You can also buy kits from the US to do it, personally I think it's a bit poo but each to their own Type K had a couple of cars down there a few weeks ago with this style Kay said it would cost £1500 to do this - they make there own hinges and dont buy kits. IMO they look great on the right car and yes the supra is a 10k car but if you where to ask Mr Joe Public who doesnt know about cars they wouldnt know it was a 10k car so imagine if you add DIablo doors to that BTW I can vouch for Type K they did my kit and fitted it for a very good price and the guys down there are tops Diablo doors group buy anyone ? I know K and Im sure he would knock come cash off if a few of us where to approach him Edited to add - it must be noted that gullwing doors and Diablo doors when opened are like chalk & cheese - I agree I dont like the gulliwings on a soop
Nick
The doors don't look like they come up enough to me, you'd constantly be smacking your head....Do they even fit properly? The last thing you want is leaks and rattles...
far
Oh yeah because the supras doors dont have any "frame" where the Window rolls up to (I know theres a specific name for this!) they look even better IMO

Must admit I have thought of both of them questions myself mate,I only glanced at K's work as I wasnt looking properly to get them done at the time - he has a couple of his show cars down there - im sure he would let us exam these closer - there was a new shape BMW down there too ( I think a 330ci) when he opened the doors on this there looked to be plenty of room to get in and out - I think this may vary from car to car - will have to have a chat with him. Lewis
Well I remember seeing a dodgy as fook white nova (you know the type) with these style doors and I nearly coffed in my mcdonalds orange juice at the time (well I did, but I just told the missus I pissed myself). On my humble super I reckon they would look mint, ƒuck everyone else - you dont like it then dont do it, simple as.... innit? heh, but seriously all these debates do rage on a bit when all it boils down to is personal opinion and bearing in mind that people spend £1500 to have the same wheels that many other people have so I am seriously looking for "that something different" and if lambo doors be it then they will go on and for those who haven't seen them in the flesh I think you would need to as they can look very different. The ONLY thing that concerns me is that if you buy a kit you need to think on the 3D plane, do they open out enough/too far and do they open/close at the right height/depth ---Disclaimer : All the above IMHO
Nic
Found this link to a Japanese Supra club the other day http://www.supra.gr.jp/ If you have a look in the section called 'Brand Products' and the headings below this you will find a link to an off the shelf scissor door kit for the Supra, plus a wide body kit and carbon rear view mirror. you can use Babel Fish at: http://world.altavista.com/ for translation
CJ
I found a supplier from the USA who would export these. It worked out about £600 less than the British supplier.
