Good stuff, done it before too. Make sure you have a way of getting back... I hear that the trains are no longer providing bike trains back to London!

Have fun

You are correct. the new trains are unable to carry lots of bikes, unlike the 63 stock (slam doors) which were placed in the brake van, but the new trains (377's) bikes can only be put in the walkway, so if you had lots of bikes on the new 377 class, and god forbid a fire broke out, or any other incident, passengers would not be able to move throught the train etc. i believe the people who run the bike ride have arranged transport for the bikes. good luck on your ride matey :)

Well, I nailed it today folks, 4 hours and 15mins with no stops!

Not bad dude :) :) Done that one several times myself - didn't do this years as I've been off the boke for too long :( I usually manage 2hrs and a bit - my target is under 2hrs but there's usually too much traffic unless you get to the front of the really, really early starts :D

Slightly over that, but not in my current (unfit) condition LOL. Used to race - 120mile races usually end up with an average speed of around 27mph:Pling: :Pling:

But for something like the L2B, anyting under 5hrs is a good time for a non-cyclist - the biggest problem is usually slow-pokes on 'mountain' bikes with knobbly tyres etc. getting in the way LOL :) :)

Shit, 2 hours! I probably could have done it faster, if it wasnt for traffic light, pile ups, and just massivly busy roads with cyclist, i was determined notto step off the bike, which in some cases, it was so packed I was almost having to stay on the spot, on the bike!

Yep, the trick is to get an early start (6.30 latest) and then just head down,on the nose blast for the first 15miles or so to clear the worst of the traffic. As for traffic lighs, I usually tend to ignore them! Tuck in behind someone when you need a 5min breather helps:)

My favorite bit is coming into Brigton, Iusually manage to hook up with a bunch of guys from London, we blast into Brighton in a tight bunch setting off all the speed cameras LOL :D :d

Some 80 quid cheapy apollo mountain bike with some road tyres on. Was good blasting into brighton, but that beacon hill is a killer! I was really starting to cramp up. I also went on an 18-30 holiday week before last, and hadnt been on my bike for over 2 weeks!
