250horses
I have just got my first Supra. It is a 1995 NA and I love it. I keep going out to look at the lines when it is parked - I must be a sad git. Anyways, whenever I accelerate uphill the engine management light comes on. It stays on until you switch the ignition off, then the light says off until the next hill!! Car has a HKS exhaust and induction filter - could the filter be the cause - too much air ?? More likely your brake fluid is low - top it up and it will prob go away! And yes - welcome to sad git land - we've all been there!

Eh, how can toping up the brake fluid cure the engine management problem? 250horses, firstly welcome to the board. If the engine management light is coming on, you should be able to get the diagnostic code from the ECU which should tell u why the engine light is coming on. im not sure how you can get the diagnostic code on a N/A but im sure someone on here will point you in the right direction. if the engine light is coming on while you're going up a hill then the car is obviously not liking it when the car is under load.. does the car feel like its running ok under load? any misfire or holding back? 250horses
No it goes uphill like stink. There are no flatspots and it takes off at 5000 rpm !! But still the bleeding engine mgmt light comes on uphill . Also at +90 mph on motorways when you floor it. There doent seem to be any noticable fault. osso
I am wondering if you might have a problem with one of the sensors.. possibly the o2 sensor.
250horses
CO2 sensor makes sense. I will unplug every plug I can find and clean them up as I have no idea where the CO2 is. As a HKS filter is fitted, the plastic pointed air box sensor goes into the 3" air intake HKS hose - does that sound right?
osso
I am pretty sure the O2 sensor is fitted near one of the CATS on the Exhaust. The reason why im suggesting that it could be a problem with the o2 sensor, is because im sensing that it could be a fueling issue, as you've said that you're not suffering from misfire.. Only real way to find out what the problem is, run a diagnostic check on the ECU.

osso
Im sure there are alot of How To's on how to get Error codes from the ECU on http://www.mkiv.com.. have you tried searching this forum on info on how to get error codes from the ECU? i would even have a look at http://www.supraforums.com which can provide a wealth of info.. Having said that, running a diagnostic test on the ECU is not for the faint hearted, shorting the wrong pins out could do some damage..

250horses
The brake fluid level is ok. The lights that come on are the little engine pic on the right and the big red warning light in the middle. Light still comes on uphill, clears when engine is turned off............. Terminator
You will have a code stored in the ECU Just be careful to proble the right terminals, it is not rocket science and will take Toyota 2 minutes, so save your self £70. Post the rusults on here and you will get very helpful advice.

I am a little concerned to try the wire check as I have been advised that if I get it wrong I can fook things up. Also I dont where the pins are - somewhere near the throttle housing? Anyways if I could find the no2 speed sensor I could clean it up?
