Greystoke
Should I be seeing oil on the front of the HKS SSQV Blow Off Valve.
Ark
It's just blow-by oil from the turbos - nothing to worry about in small quantities. If it's spraying out like a hose _then_ start worrying.
Greystoke
It seems to be only a small bit that is there. Thats ok then. Thanks.
theyoungeone
if im talking out my arse please tell me. I have the same problem mate, when i was last at turbofit in mk (nice guys) they told me it was proberly a oil breather pipe that was blocked, its the one in-between the intake manifold and passenger side rockercover. it has a ballberring valve inside that is ment to shut when the engine comes on + boost, but when they get clogged up with crap they dont shut all the way and blow oil throught the breather system and in to the pipe work then in to the engine. and when you use your BOV as such it squirts a bit out. Ben-san
As Ark said, there's a complimentary amount that normally blows through. You might notice that a stock BOV is usually a little caked with the stuff. If it's a lot, then don't ignore it. And as the young one says, a catch tank will sort this if you're worried about drips.
