Supragal
Indeed, but, they never knew they had it as it's done so young, it's not like an older dog losing it's tail. Oddly enough he's far more balanced and co-ordinated than the one with the tail lol
Paul
they're growing well Rosie, it gets more difficult to keep the buggers in check though as they grow up but keep to a standard of discipline now or you're regret it later. Dogs are so clever, they push their luck all the time with you when younger. BTW, I don't think docked dogs look bad or suffer because they have no tail, as you say it makes no real difference. My problem with it is that the dog has endured some sort of pain and discomfort having it docked and for what reason, the Kennel Club standard. Another good example of the KC not having the best interests of the dog at heart is the German Shepard's back , they've helped ruin that breed with it's sloping back and major hip problems all because of a breed standard ! Supragal
They are very well disciplined, have been from day 1. The Doberman will always be the one to push it as far as he can, but he knows who is boss without question. They both do actually. Going to my mums this weekend, see how they behave this time haha
Gazboy
Very nice dogs Rosie. My Staffy has destroyed my wifes mobile, and buried my old one in the garden! I had to ring it to find it. Little shit ate a pair of glasses too, and a neighbours cat.... (to be fair the cat was asking for it). There is a Boxer around here with a tail- it actually looks better for it. Paul
Nice one, very jealous of you at the moment. Reminds me of when we had both ours, everyday they do something stupid or funny:) Been without a dog for nearly 2mths now and after having a dog around the house for 15yrs before that, it's crap without !! Got things to sort out this year and it's too soon after losing Sam but I need another dog in my life (no girlfriend jokes), I'm even more of a miserable b*stard without one;) Maybe next spring we'll go for it? Paul
ahhh bless you. would you rescue? I'm not sure about that, I like the idea but it's such a palarva. Don't know, would love to but to me 11 or twelve years is too short a life for them anyway and I get so attached so taking a couple of year old one isn't an option for me as I'd feel I had missed out. Getting a rescue pup is difficult too as you can't see the parents or know any history so it's a bit of a lottery as to their health and temprament. Never had a rescue dog before but met some great ones, one thing is I could never just go to a rescue centre for a visit because I'd end up taking the lot home:) Paul

Paul
I've still been doing my bit to help them though, sponsored several dogs over the years at the Newbury Dogs Trust centre (was the NCDL), mainly older dogs that they find difficult to re-home, helps towards vets fees and food etc. Paul
