You lucky its only food Rosie,

found out my mates pup was big enought to put his paws on the kitchen side when we found my and his mobiles, wallets and keys spread around the garden in many different states of chewdness!! my mate never found one of his credit cards and about £30 in cash (notes thank god!)...

 

ah we do keep finding mobile phones in their beds :)

At the other end of the scale, we're going to pick up our 8 week old Jack Russell tomorrow after work. Got a springer spaniel 'reserved' as well.

 

I'm just sorting out a run and kennel for them on the grass outside the office.

 

ahh there were 2 JR's at the socialisation classes we went to, they were well cute

They're cute puppies, but I must say I don't like to see tails being docked.

 

I'd have prefered him with, but as they are done so young unless you find a "due" litter and request it theres no option until the new legislations kick in. Plus of course then you can't choose the pup it's pot luck which one keeps its tail.

why do they dock the tails?

 

Is it for hygiene

 

I think the original idea was for gun dogs and other 'working' types to have the tail docked to prevent them getting caught in fences etc. while doing their job.

Then it gets adopted as the breed standard and the original reason has got lost somewhere.

 

I prefer tails intact and don't agree with docking myself.

 

Might have got the info wrong but I seem to remember something along these lines?
