Terminator
Latest news, replace speed humps with cameras. At last a saftey reason for cameras, perhaps. Discuss.
Pete
You get both around here on the same stretch of road. Where's the sense in that? I don't like speed bumps. Severely limits where the kitcar can go.
geoffvalenti
I hate both of them, but if I had a choice, I'd reluctantly have to choose the cameras with a caveat that they don't reduce the speed limits to 10 mph
DamanC
with camera's i can actually drive down the road, speed bumps are slowly destroying my crap decat.
Alex
Camera's don't damage cars so to have them in residential area's outside schools etc is much much better...but I also agree that I hope they don't reduce speed limits too... The case against speed cameras in these areas is that people don't look at the road cause they are looking at the speedo! Head up displays should be compulsory!! (sp?) lust2luv
20mph temporary speed limits outside schools either: a) during school hours b) when children are present like they do in the States. How hard a concept is that? (or is there some legal reason why this is unenforcable?) But yeah, I'd take a visible speed camera over speedbumps any day. Alex
Time limited speed reductions are indeed a good idea.

wkdtime
Ditch the humps and get cameras, im up for that. Anyone who speeds in these areas should be hung anyway as there prodominantly high built areas.
Terminator
Time limited speed reductions are indeed a good idea. I think they are a great idea. But I cant see it is ever happen, think of all the money they would lose if we could drive 10 or 20 mph more during periods when road are little used. jamesmark
IMHO speed bumps dont work unless its the ones that go accross the road, the only ones that really work but are still dangerous cause people take chances is the ones demo'd in this pic and i know you like the art work lol
hogmaw
that will be the new type of cameras that suss your average speed between two points... that's ok with me if put in a proper place ie outside a school etc, rather than an open stretch of road in the middle of nowhere
markymark
Has anybody heard of the new speed bumps coming out - these speed bumps deflate if you go over them at the correct speed they work of a means of a valve and have been highly praised by the government(invented by a British fella)
Gazboy
Has anyone ever managed to do 30mph past a school at kicking out time? Normaly you are doing walking pace due to traffic volumes. Why can't we just teach the cretins the green cross code? If you can't cross a road on your own, you shouldn't be out on your own -same argument for pedestrian activated buttons on trafficl ight controlled roundabouts. I was going to work the other night when this retard waited 5 minutes at a red light because the green man wasn't illuminated- ffs how much time do you sodding need to cover 18 feet of tarmac!!!! Awful things. I feel a right tool at 4am on the M25 at 40mph while there appears to be nothing going on- no wonder it's gonna take them until October! Their tea break doesn't finish until July 10th! I'd have no problem with SPECS outside a school...as long as it was well signposted!!
