Jake
I've badly scraped one of my 19" Advan Sienna Generation 2 split rim alloys. They were quite scratched up anyway. Can the rim part be purchased seperately? Where from? Do you need to buy the specific rim for the wheels or are there generic ones? I'm hoping I don't have to buy them from the wheel manufacturer themselves but I bet that's how it works. Anyone got experience of this? Thanks
Guest gzaerojon
how bad are they? is there much meat missing?
Jake
I'm sure they could be repaired if you knew what you were doing. I did a search for wheel refurbishers but didn't find any locally. I thought it might be easier to just replace the rim parts if the price wasn't too steep.
Guest gzaerojon
i did MINE recently before i sold them, the rims were de-curbed and fully polished, and the spoke sections were repainted. are they real split rims?
Nick
I looked into getting my split rims (Blitz Z1's) refurbed a while ago. I went to Fat Wheels on the Isle of Sheppey so they could have a look. You have to give them just the wheels, and they need them for at least 4 days (I think), 1 day for the work and then 3 days to check they were sealed properly after they'd been put back together. They weren't able to do a mirror finish on the outer lip though so I didn't get them done in the end. I think Envy have started doing split rims now. Never heard of anyone buying parts of a rim. Are they actually made by Advan? The Blitz wheels are made by Enkei.

Nick
I might be wrong but I thought Ian C had done exactly that. Not 100% sure though. Gawd knows. Mine have Enkei stamped on the inside where it faces up to the hub. A long shot, but in case they're made by someone else then you can contact them and see if they can supply the rim. Alex
Ian had his outer rims replaced by Image wheels...he had to send the old one off and they made a copy....or 4 in the end. So have a word with Image Wheels. But Whiffin supplies those wheels and has some himself, infact I believe they are his old wheels....anyway he may be your best bet for sourcing originals. Gaz Walker
Hi Jake, You won't be able to buy the rim seperate, wheel manu. don't do this, as its not worthwhile (profitable!) for them to do so. I can get you a replacement if you like. Gaz.
