imi
Matt - hope it gets sorted - dealer sounds like a bit of an idiot to me. (will remember to keep away from the numpty)
Lewis
It would do when you've only heard one side of the story. Totally, that's why I wasn't literal mate, I was saying it looks like (on face value), I wouldn't accuse anyone of anything without knowing all the facts
gaz1
Matt - hope it gets sorted - dealer sounds like a bit of an idiot to me. (will remember to keep away from the numpty) i have met the guy and believe me he is no idiot, as has been said lets hear both sides before slagging anyone
colsoop
I think i had a chat with you at Mascrat ? Anyway i believe you need the button to be able to use the folding option.
SupraHuman
I have bought a few bits from Martin and he is pretty far from beeing an idiot.I found him to be most helpful and he has a very good knowledge about supras. I'm sure he'll sort you out Matt once he gets around to read this thread.
Terminator
I think it is out of order to post up the original starter post, without having first tried to contact the trader, in order to resolve the matter, then have the matter resolved. There have been alot of assumptions made by the buyer. I am with Jake on this one, but I am sure Martin will resolvethe matter.
RICHARDA
I thought he had tried several times to contact Martin to get things resolved but simply has not had any luck so far. People will only wait so long IMO.
Dragonball
I have to say that this 'Trial by Public Forum' is a little unfair with the short time frame involved and what could easily be a mistake. Never ceases to amaze me how one minute it's all 'By jove he's a wonderful chap' when you are available for people morning' noon and night to discuss just about anything (I got a call the other night at 11.20 pm askeing about wheel offsets - unfortunately Martin had already gone to bed apparently (!)) First sign of a bit gone missing or a mistake and everyone is down on a chap like a ton of bricks!! Matt - you had a 'problem' with those dash surounds that arrived all OK - just chill Dude - maybe Martin took a day off
Pete
(I got a call the other night at 11.20 pm askeing about wheel offsets - unfortunately Martin had already gone to bed apparently (!)) Well that's just unreasonable. How dare Martin think he can sleep! FFS - I wouldn't ring ANYONE at that time. Especially not about something so trivial. RedM
I've got a bone to pick with Martin too. He once rung me (not me ringing him) to see if I'd finally got my RLTC sorted. He was concerned for me. I was about to have an afternoon nap. One minute these traders are being helpful, then next they are dragging you from your bed. Obviously I didn't mention it at the time. I thought I'd go public first without giving him a chance. I was so annoyed I decided to take my revenge a few weeks later by ordering a Greddy exhaust and some coil packs from him. I'll teach him to have excellent customer service. Seriously though, great bloke but anyone can make a mistake. None of us are perfect. spidermonkey
I have met Martin, really nice guy who really knows his supra's, I am very shocked you have had this type of service maybe he's very busy or away, will be waiting to see how this all pans out as he has done good work on my car and still some work to come
Guest Bijal
I am sure theres a reasonable explanation for this, the obvious things would be: A: The package was signed for by a member of staff, coleague, mate father, mother, girlfriend of Martin's in his name. Hence martin continued to think he has not recieved that particular parcel. B: I am sure with Martin's popularity on this forum he must be getting hundreds of parcels everyday to which he cannot inspect them all in a day or by himself to acknowledge Matt's delivery. C: Normaly Martins the 1st person to see a good deal on the forum and gets in there before anyone else, hence he know whats going on on the boards constantly and for him not to see this thread i am sure none of the explanations above would apply, but something more serious. Although i wouldnt wish that appon him. D: With regard to the mirrors supplied in poor condition, although its not nice i am sure Martin will refund you the money, send you a new/correct set of mirrors free of charge with a box of Harribos thrown in I am sure he'll sort it soon Matt. Dragonball
Whilst on here having a moan... Both Martin and Gaz (you know - the slim one from Oop north with the flat cap and whippets!) insist on me (ME!) paying for stuff that I order AND they dont come down and tuck me up in bed at night! (just tuck me up!) Fecking cheek!
lust2luv
Interesting situation. Surely there are only: a) Electrically adjusted, heated mirrors, that fold manual b) Electrically adjusted, non-heated mirrors, that fold electronically If he really has sent you the former (without even advertising the heated feature), then why on earth would somebody think they're worth a premium over any other type of mkiv wingmirror? Should be pretty easy to tell if they truly aren't electronically folding by seeing if they easily manually fold (which electric ones shouldn't). Kranz
I haven't bought anything from Martin, but as he is in Bristol, close to my parents, I'll be visiting soon to check out the new store. IMHO from what I've heard & seen on here he is very knowledgeable & a class 1 trader. Give the chap a chance. We're not here to be judge & jury. Everyone makes mistakes. Those that don't make mistakes don't make anything!!
Lucifer
Wow thanks Guy. I have only just seen this. Yes we have really messed this order up, well me to be precise. Please let me explain on Short detail. 1. The car the mirrors were to come off I am stripping for a drift car and they are electric folding mirrors. 2. Put up the for sale and Matt bought them. 3. Matt's mirrors got signed for here by myself but I thought they were another package and did not open them and put them to one side. (Big mistake by me there) 4. eventually found them, went to swap them and low and behold the passenger mirror was not working just clicking. So I decided to send back the his original mirrors and issue a refund including a covering letter. 5. In the covering letter i noted the fact that he had scratched his door glass getting the mirrors off his car and as I had F**ed up here I was willing to pay for a new piece of glass or at lest send him one as a gesture of good will. 6. The last 2 days I have been mostly out sorting out stuff for Dudes car this weekend and our open day, also a new business venture. 7. Uncontactable this morning due to BT being here installing a few new lines, but haveing to replace the drop wire from the Pole out side. CONCLUSION:- A) We messed up bad here and I can only apologize B) I have sent back his original mirrors and Have offered replacement glass for the damaged he caused to his car getting them out c) I will also include a few more free items to sweeten the deal. I can't apologize enough to Matt. My reputation is my best asset right now and I'd be stupid for the sake of £150 to ignore this. I hope Matt can contact me sometime today to rectify this, as I have tried calling on a number of occasions to get his voice mail. Peace
