If I was the trader in a matter like this I would be sorely tempted to tell Matt to sod off after seeing this thread.

:werd: From the original post, it looks like Matt hasn't even been in contact with Martin yet. Hardly giving him a chance to right things is it, before putting this kind of post up which can only be bad for the trader, no matter how they sort it out.

Would definately be best to speak to Martin first. I think what's also pissing Matt off is this bit

that even though he hadn’t received my mirrors he would send me out his as he had signed for the package.. o.k then fair play…

So, this afternoon, I get Martins Mirrors (they were attempted last Friday but I wasn’t in), which funnily enough had been posted to me using the same packaging I sent mine in to him! Lol, even using the same newspaper packing I had stuffed in there for protection!! So I guess he had received them after all!

I would second that m8 if dozens of other guys hadn't already got there before me. :drama:

A traders reputation is worth more than a set of mirrors, electric in every way or not. I've only had limited dealings with Martin, but he seems a good guy, i'm sure somthing will be sorted Matt.

Just out of interest would you also have needed a folding mirror 'brain' too?

My MR2 had a small ECU type device behind the dash that was dedicated to folding the mirrors in, does the Supra have similar?

ECU? i thought it was a relay box??

I have to say I read it as a bit of a laugh at an embarassingly daft situation. For the £150 it's quite obvious that Martin thought they were electricaly-folding. Perhaps they are even, but just don't work without the brains.

Are we still talking about the mirrors ? Or are you referring to Matt ?

Interesting, I needed to repair my driver side folding mirror, and contacted martin about the possibility of refurblishing my existing mirror. I attepted to have a look myself to see what was wrong with it, I was able to diagnose the problem and i simply needed a replacement to fix it. contacted martin and told him what the problem was and needed a replacement part, obviously thinking if he was able to refurblish the mirrors he would have spare parts to hand, which i could buy directly and fix it myself, unfortunately I found him very unhelpful, to the point of ignoring my messages.

I eventually managed to source the bits i needed and repair the mirror myself! since then my car has now been sold, and to my knowledge the mirror is still working perfectly.

everything is concealed within the wing mirror, no brain is required.

I'm all for going public on this, not dealt with him yet but heard lots of good feedback so far. This gives a balanced view and you can't be knocked for that, it also gives Martin an ideal chance to show how he deals with things when they go tits up as in this case which will be excellent for his business if handled correctly.

Watching with interest:)

Plastic box with wires going into it = "ECU type device" to someone like me :)

Either way there is a seperate bit on the MR2 that you need, Osso has confirmed this isn't the case with the Supra though.

Just wondering as I miss my folding mirrors, sick of people knocking the normal ones in the car park at work, stupid narrow spaces :(

You can buy my services for 20p a week, you can place me in your boot and i can fold your mirrors for you.:D

There are no Supras with manually adjustable mirrors are there?

If so then the advert for swapping whole wing mirrors + extra cash suggests that you will get better/higher spec ones back ie Electrically folding ones (the only other type?)

Or else what would be the point........
