Are you saying this thread isn't just an attempt to embarrass Martin into refunding you?

no me thinks hes pointing out a sticky situation that needs sorting... if its true then martin is in the wrong.

let martin reply then everyone can make up their own minds...

wouldnt this be the best course of action...

wouldnt you have done the same if a trader had done what is described above to you ...

I've just re-read your original post.

Your mirrors were just normal ones that didn't fold in right? (the mirror did, but not the whole mirror unit?) & you were buying a set of mirrors that the whole unit folded into the car (not just the mirror)

Martin must have meant the electric mirror units that fold in...surely? Why would anyone swap theirs for a set of the same & pay £150 for the privelige?

I'm confused now

My interpretation of the situation is that Matt had electrically adjustable mirrors, which can be manually folded in (I assume this actually exists as an option) He thought he was buying electrically adjustable, electrically folding mirrors, and was prepared to pay the 150 for the privelidge.

Obviously "electric, folding mirrors" could be interpreted either way, and should have been confirmed before buying, but these kind of simple mistakes are made all too frequently.

What i got was he thought they were advertised as a pair of retractable mirrors for parking etc.

I would have given Martin the opportunity to try and sort this out privately before posting up here myself, maybe Martin was away when you tried to contact him. Then if you had no joy, I would have tried other avenues, still privately, and then posted here

:yeahthat:

I don't know, TBH. Probably not if I wanted that trader's goodwill/help/services again.

If I was the trader in a matter like this I would be sorely tempted to tell Matt to sod off after seeing this thread.

OTOH I know what it's like trying to get a reasonable service from some traders, on here and elsewhere.
