r1george
Hi, Just joined the forum hopefully to learn a bit about my Supra TT. I've had the car for 2 years now so I thought it was time for a bit of modding. It's a jap spec 3.0 tt, full leather, auto 78,000mls and was totally standard till last month when I fitted 19's, strut brace, induction system and mongoose exhaust. Looks the business now (not really into body kits apart from the TRD option, side skirts and spats). This week I'm fitting new(standard 2 pot) front calipers, 10 groove disc's, green stuff pads and braided hoses. The rear can wait till I've bribed the wife into letting me spend "more money"!! Anyway I've just bought a GREEDY FCD and need some informed help/advice. Do I go for a manual boost controller or electronic taking into consideration cash flow and reliability?? To be safe what else do I need to do to gain more reliable power?? Am I better staying with standard power. Any help is appreciated:) r1george
CardiffSupra
Welcome matey, Any pics? Lots of answers for you on the FAQ section. Dont think u need a bost controler mate, If you decat a restrictor ring will do the job for much less £££
Ulrik
Welcome to the Forum... I would sugguest a Electronic boost controller from HKS. HKS EVC EZ 2 is a really good one, easy to install and controll.

ManwithSupra
Welcome to the forum matey It sounds like you are going what they call BPU I wouldn’t worry about getting a boost controller just double decat the exhaust and get a restrictor ring from Chris Wilson. The Standard J-spec tubbies will only handle a maximum of 1.2bar (and that’s pushing it a bit) in order to go fully BPU you will need to upgrade your fuel pump to a Walbro, get colder spark plugs, boost gauge, you already have a Fuel cut defender, so all you would need then is a 1, 1.1or 1.2bar restrictor ring. 1.1bar is ok you will get a noticeable amount of power gain from that, I will be running 1.2bar and hope that the tubs will handle it (if not I will upgrade to a single )

This sounds like an interesting thread, just starting to 'play' with my TT too, just bought myself a HKS bov and am about to de-cat the beast, once I find out a little more about it. Cost etc. Keep us posted on what you go for, be good to see some piccies too.

Feakins
Welcome matey, like what has been said do a lot of browsing of the forum and you will find all your answers. If cash flow is a problem I wouldn't try and do it cheap or get a manual boost controller just wait a couple of months.

Homer
Hi and welcome. As no one else has mentioned it, do not fit green stuff pads on a car like the Supra! They are absolutely hopeless, no bite when cold and cook after one high speed stop. Best to leave them to the Nova boys Chris Wilson fast road pads are highly recommended and used by many on here. r1george
Thanks for the welcome and thanks for advise on the green stuff brakes. It seems I don't need a boost controller just a decat and restrictor, more info on this would be helpful. Thank again to all who replied i'll get some picture on line ASAP. R1GEORGE You'll need to replace both cats with decat pipes and restrictor ring to limit to 1.2 bar. - approx £300. Colder plugs £11-£55 Fit boost gauge , large variation in price dependent on quality. Advisable to upgrade fuel pump - approx £95 Walbro

r1george
Does anybody have any numbers for places I can get the decat pipes, fuel pump and plugs?? What power am I looking at if I use a 1bar boost restrictor ring? I don't want to put to much strain on the turbo's so 1 bar should be the safer option. I've already got a boost gauge and I'm boosting max at 0.8bar which I think is about right for standard. Any comment's
