Lewis
On behalf of a friend: 94 FTO GPX MIVEC putting out almost 100bhp/litre Lovingly maintained car which has been a daily driver for me for the last two and a bit years. I was the second UK owner but the first one didn't have it for long as he bought it and realised he couldn't get all the kids in the back at once so sold it to buy a Shogun on orders of the missus. He paid over £8000 for the car just 2.5 years ago. Car is well known to Scottish FTO Owners and has been well looked after i drove from Scotland to EuroSpec just outside london to have a full service, underseal and tappets done by Mark, one of the recognised FTO experts, that is how well it has been looked after. Cambelt done at 100km and currently sitting at 150km (so 96k miles) so that's ok for a bit. Last garage service at the time of MOT done at Logan's Garage, Edinburgh again, an FTO specialist who do all the cars for a local import centre. I've solved many of the problems FTO's get. The roof rust has been done as best as possible from the inside with all the dodgy sealant removed and a waterproof one put in place. The peeling headlights have been fixed and the fog lights have had new bolts put in. The MIVEC cover has a Scots themed paintjob so be good for those north of the border. There is none of the usual engine bay rust under the fuse box or on the bulkhead etc. I've painted sections in the engine bay to try to stop anything appearing - so far it seems to have worked! She has a Clifford AvantGuard G5 alarm immobiliser which would come in at about £1000 if you wanted to install it today. However, there is no security cert for this as the previous owner had it shipped from the US and at the time they weren't even rated by thatcham it was so new. The car has an additional cat II immobiliser for insurance reasons The fitter couldn't believe that my insurers needed anything extra fitting! The alarm also has remote start. Yey, push the button and go. Practical in winter as the car stays locked and alarmed while warming up outside. When other people are out scraping ice off the windscreen you can have another cup of tea! I've also replaced the aircon control as that was a little wonky (can be a common fault) and the gear shift surround is also sprayed silver to match the car. There is a Sony Xplod amp in the boot powering two Xplod 6x9's in the rear parcel shelf. there are two Alpine speakers in the doors. Comes with Kenwood CD tuner which has been properly wired in and the loom hasn't been cut. There is plug socket in the front and back as the previous owner was intending to install an invertor. I never got round to it but the wiring is all there if you want to put in a playstation or carputer. The car is still restricted but only because i haven't fitted the conversion chip yet but i got the chip along with a set of white/blue KMC dials. I'll include these with the sale. Car has a full s/s Mongoose exhaust with decat the cat is available if wanted. You can get this car MOTed without a cat though as it comes into the right year. I also fitted an ITG induction kit (best for FTO) and it produces a fantastic noise when you hit that MIVEC zone. The original airbox is available too. Ok bad bits - i replaced the rear bumper to get rid of the ugly fog light and i didn't need to. The replacement bumper does have one scratch on it and a scuff. Not bad but annoyed me as i like perfection. The roof had started to bubble. As i said i have had the inside repaired to prevent further damage but i have only patched over the outside bits. A spray will probably be around £200 i believe, i just haven't had time to do it. As i said i drive the car everyday so having it off the road is a big problem. The car is a tiptronic and before you boo and hiss let me say it is fabulous. The changes are very smooth and the tip/semi auto mode is great for back road driving. As i don't thrash it i get 300 miles to a tank so about 26mpg - excellent for a performance car. The boot is also huge and you can actually get people in the back of the car (albeit short people) I've had droplinks and arb bushes replaced several times and she sounds fab with the exhaust and ITG. A low burble at idle but a real throaty noise when you want to get moving. None of your tin can full of hornets saxo noise here! Loads of pics on site from meets etc on FTO OC but i will email any pics anyone wants as necessary. Excellent second vehicle or car for someone that wants to be able to take the shopping home each day if they already have a Supra. Looking for £3750 ono and a box of tissues so i can cry when she goes away. [email protected]
