supraaaaaaaaaa
yeah the hughes vs gracie fight was brilliant he totaly dominated him on the ground which shocked me, but he did hold on till the bitter end hughes was a bit lucky i fear as once he got control on the ground he went for it, but gracie being himself could have pulled out an amazing finish but dues to hughes one tuff son of a bithc, bring on bj penn vrs huges for the rematch
Gary
Huge UFC fan here! Most looking forward to see St Pierre V Hughes whenever that is going to happen. Went to Vegas for UFC54 last August and was hoping to go for the Ortiz / Shamrock fight next month but just spent out on the supra and gone BPU so cant afford the tickets now The ultimate fighter series is brilliant, the next one is going to have previous UFC fighters looking to make a comeback. IDO
cool, i thought there may be a few people who may have or are still in to it.. didn't think there would be this many! Its interesting to see all the different styles being practiced around the uk.. for anyone looking at this thinking of doing a combat sport... sure everyone here would agree and say you'll probably love it! go ahead! don't worry about age or fitness it doesn't matter! Well at the moment i am just starting to train properly again after 18 months off due to a minor set back (well a ripped stomach and throat, causing open chest surgery), hope to be back in the ring before the end of the year! good luck to all those involved in the martial arts, maybe see you at a show someday! (hopefully I will be fighting!)

Snooze
So was mine, up until about 2-3yrs ago! You must know (at least) Tango, Mr Raines etc then.............small world eh! Oh great! Now I'm going to have to guess who you are! Now I remember some time back (before I had a supra myself) admiring a supra owned by one other Knight - in fact, looking over that helped firm my decision to ultimately get one. If I remember rightly, it was a Red SZ and it belonged to Scott. That wouldn't be you, would it?!?!?!

Guest snead
Have been training in muay thai for ten years now with bits of Brazilian Ju jitsu every now n them. I was recently crowned 'middle weight amateur kick boxing champion'. won the title in March this year at Warrington. Have tried the full contact Muay thai too! Jeeees trust me that shin on shin sh*t really hurts big style! Still undefeated though, not that I'm blowing my own trumpet or nowt!

I chatted to you just after you arrived at Don Valley Stadium when you were still a bit shaken after getting pulled - you said the coppers clocked you at around the ton and were quite nice about it but were worried about you speeding past all the holidaying caravan traffic, as I recall.... ? I'm tempted to make you keep guessing, but feel it wouldn't be fair, really! It's Ben here, mate - played behind you at LB for quite a few years! IDO
Snead, I know what you mean about the shins.. I only fight muay thai, apart from the shins my head has taken a beating from a few too many elbows! don't think i would fight any other style though. going back out to thailand later on in the year to some training, really wanted to fight last time i was out there but fitness and injury didn't even let me think about it... maybe next time! Guest snead
ouch!! full thai rules! young man you have balls of steel. I've never fought with the elbow being allowed, for the best I think as my guard could be improved. Just missed out on a trip to thailand:( but hope to get next year. good luck with your next bout, 5 three mins? Ben-san
I have been training in Jeet kwon doe and Win Chun for nearly 5 years now and also done a bit of boxing which i did not like and also Akijitsu I'm thinking you might be training under the same master as a friend of mine... do you know a Phillipino guy called Chris perchance? I can't get enough of Wing Chun myself, just a shame classes start too early for me to get there.
razza
did karate for 10 years gaining dan grades in Goju-Ryu and Gendo-Kai, also dabbled in combat sombo and ju-jitsu for a few years For the past 6 years I've been training in Systema (Russian Martial Art) and teach it in maidenhead if anyone fancies popping over. Darren-K
i keep seeing that people are trained in jeet kune do, but honestly ( no disrespect here ) whats the quality of the training like in that style ? in karate or wing chun you have masters that are instructors where there teachning moves often 100`s of years old., but jeet kune do is only,.. what , ? 40-50 years old at most ? is the quality of the training high and the grading system sound ? jazz1
best martial arts no doubt is either ju-jitsu or brizillian ju-jitsu or you cant beat vale tude or kickboxing these forms include grappling, iv done karate, kung fu, kickboxing and tae kwon do(itf) and just learnt some vale tudo which to me is the best
Darren-K
out of the 3 styles that i trained in jazz i prefered karate, when i firs started it was a ball ache,so much training for just basic blocks and punches etc but karate changes radically for full or semi contact ( as you know ) but i would of liked to try jeet tho cos its many styles all rolled into 1 and simplified for speed
