RedM
Jspec auto TT When moving from a standstill the speedo jumps from zero only when I reach 5-10mph and drops to zero from about the same speed when slowing. Typical or problematic?
sarjo
Plant your foot and see what happens Mine does that a little too, so maybe typical?
RedM
Plant your foot and see what happens Ha ha, I normally do. It's only because i'm pootling around for a couple of weeks that I have time to notice this stuff. It could have been like this forever and I have no idea. RedM
Can we have auto supra owners have a look at this next time they are driving? Does your speedo rise as soon as you start moving? Even at crawl? Does it lag behind for a few mph? Would like to know.
RedM
Anyone? I'm getting freaked at rolling along in traffic at zero mph. Is the speedo calibrated well enough to actually measure 1mph?

BASHTHEBISHOP
I have a jspec auto tt and my speedo is fine. I have no idea what might be wrong with yours though as my tech knowledge is worse than zero. Sorry.
Terminator
JDM TT auto here, I dont have a problem works as it should, except always reads high above 30. Possibly a dirty connection behind the speedo, some switch cleaner on the plug may help. May be a speed signal sender fault, as a few of you have the same fault it is more likely to be a worn component. If it is the sender it can only get worse. squiffy
you think you got problems, ask wsb2 about his speedo adjusting dash light dimmer switch!!!!
VIL
If it helps I had an issue with the speedo jumping all over the place. Turned out to be bad solders where the speed converter had been added. Take out the dash fascia and try giving them a re-solder, sorted mine out a treat! Took about half an our tops! NB when taking out the dash read some of the notes on doing so as you can end up activating the airbag light so it stays on and you then have to re-set it. I did this no big problem but better avoided if you can.

SupraTRD83
Same problem here, crawling in traffic mine reads 0 till i reach 5mph then it shoots up to 5mph and works fine and same when stopping i slowly stop and the speedo slowly goes down to 5mph then seems to get jammed there until i fully stop then it suddenly shoots down to 0 like the engine has cut out, and my revs are only around 500rpm
