RLTC questions

Jake

Recommended Posts

My 6sp VVTi has RLTC fitted but I don't really know much about it.

The adjuster has a green 'Launch Control' button, does this mean it has the optional LC installed or do all the rltc adjusters have this button?

Assuming LC is installed, How do you operate it exactly?

How do I check that it has a suitable DAT file installed?

Do I need a special cable to connect a laptop to the RLTC brain?

Thanks

Jake,

As Ben says it'll have a serial connection somwhere. Assuming ou have a laptop you can plug it in and upload the DAT (if there is one and it's not just running the default settings). I'd then send it off to Terminator and ask him to tell you what kind of conditions/driving it is set for.

The Racelogic software is available from their site and from mkivstore. It's really simple to use when you understand it.

Start the car, (preferably warm), then just push the button and floor the throttle. You should have an 'artificial' rev limit at about 4500rpm. If it just sweeps up to the redline, it needs backing off.

If the buttons there, you have the feature. It may just need setting up.

My friend is a RaceLogic dealer he is sending me a digital copy of the manual, i'll let you know when I have this and i'll send you a copy if you like.

But from what I understand: LC will have been configured to a predefined rpm level (4000/4500), start the car, press the button, floor it, it will take a couple of seconds to find the set level, then release the clutch! Job Done!

Let us know how you get on with it.
