Guru
Who are AON???
Soop Dogg
Aon have been around for years. They run a classic car rally every year too, so at least they seem like they are interested in cars! Be careful if you are using one of their specialist car policies though. Their 'Roadster' policy (underwritten by Royal & Sun Alliance) with limited mileage is designed for second cars and you don't get ANY no claims bonus with it. When I wrote off a Supra about 3 years ago, I had quite a task to get a decent settlement from them too. In the end I made enough of a pest of myself that when I offered to accept their first offer (which they had refused to increase in over a month of arguing) on the condition I could keep any salvage I wanted, they finally agreed, probably just to get rid of me. Worked out ok for me in the end, but I didn't renew my policy with them. I'm with Norwich Union Direct now.
green_dragon
That's interesting, you don't gain ANY NCD?? That sucks. It is underwritten by Royal and Sunalliance so thai sounds like what I have been quoted on, it is my second (well third) car too. I need to ask some more questions methinks, thanks Soop Dogg! Yeah, I am 26 with 7 years No Claims Discount, married, 25yr old wife, 5000 miles P/A with a postcode NG21 ***, So I am quite happy. If anyone wants AON's no. just let me know - am I allowed to put it in a post, or it that frowned upon?
green_dragon
Oh yeah, what's agreed value?
MrRalphMan
Oh yeah, what's agreed value? When you get insurance you're asked for the value of the car. Normally you say £12. You then wrap it around a tree and they give you book prices ~£7K ish. Agreed value is you agree with them £12K. Same tree comes up, but you get £12K.. A lot of companies will only give you book price unless you really kick up a stink.
green_dragon
Thanks, I really do need to ask some more questions then.
