Weird revs this afternoon.

Jspec TT Auto:

When driving home this afternoon I was driving very gently. Not really much boost, gentle acceleration etc etc.

I noticed that the revs seemed to drop quicker when off the gas. Moreso than than I clearly recall from previous driving. Almost to idle speed at about 10-15 mph and even at 30 the revs seemed low (about 1000rpm). I don't know if it's normally like this as I don't usually watch the rev counter when in slow driving situations.

I know the car kind of adapts to your driving style so was the car chilling like I was? Obviously being off the gas causes revs to fall and being an auto it seems like they are closely related but does this seem like an issue?

I had a similar thing today, in that sometimes my tickover was a bit lower than normal when I stopped (600 instead of 750 for a while)...

Maybe something to do with having the A/C on (the fan takes a lump out of the charging circuit on full blast) with the A/C pump at full blast, plus the fact that the air was very dry today (combustion not so good as on humid cooler days)..

I'm auto BTW.....:)

:) nag nag nag...I left home to get away from people like you

That's funny. And true. :)

I'm finding that my revs are very low at the moment because the wife has snatched the Supra and parked it at mid-term at Stansted airport for 5 days. Bloody typical!
