Gaz6002
A little birdy tells me sky are offering broadband through your skydish starting from next month. Bit sketchy on the details but I believe its going to be a 2mb service. I may look into this myself as I am too far from my local exchange and can only get (a shaky) 512. Oddball
I've just got NTL broadband and ok up to now. They have just done me a deal of basic TV, Phone with unlimited calls on weekends to landlines and up to 4mb broadband which I must say is quick! All fo £21 a month for 3 months and £36 after. Good value for money I think. Also I think its £17.99 for 1mb isn't it?

Guest mk47
How is NTL slow? Describe your symptoms. well websites generally load up quite fast, unless they have pics/videos. also when i try to watch any video on websites it takes forever to buffer and download before i can watch them..general download speed is slow aswell. is it something im at fault with or you reckon its the isp? Oddball
I think you need a BT line for nildram?? Speak to NTL and get them to sort you out. Because i'm an existing cumstomer, they gave me a great deal. Check the web site. I think 1mb is now 2mb, 2mb is now 4mb and 8mb is now 10mb. Something like that anyway

Bobbeh
I dont know about you, but I've used NTL broadband for about 5 years now, and have only had issues when they restructred their network about 3 years ago. I cant really fault the speed, both web pages loading, downloads, latency (pings) are untouchable by others. Its as close to being on LAN as you're gonna get really. mawby
I had NTL since they started broadband and never had a problem except for the occasional down time, but that was more in the early days. I often work from home and have a constant VPN connection into the office and I still always had fast unlimited download speeds. When I moved NTL wasn't available, so I went with Toucan. They are cheap, and reasonably quick, but the quality of connection is poor. Often I get high lag time on games and sometimes I can't access t'internet at all. I then did a bit of research (which I should have done at the start instead of just looking at the cost!) and found out Toucan is just up selling the Tiscalli network.... which is known for not being very good especially now they've started to sell more than they actually have capacity for. As soon as my 12 month contract is up I'll be switching for sure.
