Guru
I had a Great Dane once and they are lovely dogs. If you can get over the mad rush in the morning they are perfect I am a bulldog fan anyways
tbourner
We had a great dane as well, 7gen pedigree! Looked just like yours but was female. She was scared of everything it was silly, would stand up with her paws on the garden gate, barking that loud bark that they do at the postman - as soon as he opened the latch on the gate she'd run down the drive and hide behind the greenhouse in the back garden!! Used to hide shivering under the table with all 4 of us hugging her in thunderstorms as well.

Scared stiff of strangers and hides under my compter desk during thunderstorms, fireworks, or when the Mrs runs him a bath.
Supragal
How on earth do you get him in the bath?
Jake
We've pretty much given up bathing him. It's doggy shampoo and the garden hose nowadays. With lots of gentle persuasion, and telling him what a good boy he is, he will get in the bath himself eventually but it's such a palarva. He makes a right old mess too, you end up as wet as him. tbourner
We used the hose as well, she always seemed to run straight indoors when we were done and shake off though - thanks then!
