rik
Has anybody used one of those companys that will come out and fit an alarm to your car? I remember seeing a company featured in a magazine once, think it was Japanese Performance, but can't remember who they were. Also, can anybody recommend a good alarm. Wouldn't mind remote start but really just need something decent as i'm insuring my car soon. What's everybody using?

Dave F
I used gap for my clifford and have had a few problems, all to do with installation rather than the actual alarm.

supRo
Toad Ai606 - I've had 4 of these alarm systems (on different cars!). Never had a problem with them. Mines has a tilt sensor and a proximity sensor
grimreaper
i have used gap twice now and no probs with my alarms.
Matt 6
I have always used Toad Alarms, never had any problems here. I use a mobile fitter, not sure how far away he is willing to travel though. He is very cheap for this area and I have had about 8 alarms fitted by him now to my different cars.

rik
i second the toad ai606 Sounds good, how much did this cost? Anybody got any good links to somewhere that supplies alarms and has prices listed. I really dont know how much to spend! The car is uninsured with no mot, so need the alarm fitted before i can get insurance or mot.
Al_Lilley
i gota clifford concept 650 on my golf from gap security..very expensive gap and i had a few probs with the dual proximity sensor....im upgrading my alarm on my supe to the clifford concept 650 in a week from http://www.specialistsecurity.net and they are coming out to fit my alarm at my home for £379 which i think is reasonable...plus they are taking my old alarm out for free...whereas gap charge for this...if anyones interested ill let them know how i get on with specialist security..plus you dont pay until theyve come to your house and have fitted it..cash,credit card etc... Animal
I'd be interested in how you get on as I'm just about to get an immobiliser fitted Cheers Animal
Guest purkin69
Got a quote from specialist security today, sounds really good. Do you know if the Clifford 650's come with remote central locking as standard, or is it extra? I'm thinking of going for the intelistart so would be really interested in how you get on
