Twenty years after the end of the series, Airwolf is back.

"Quoted from fan site"

Airwolf helicopter in all its glory has been every fan´s dream since the crash of the real Airwolf helicopter in 1991. But nobody thought it would ever happen. Recently however, a group of dedicated people gathered to make this dream come true.

Early this year, a Bell 222A registered N414WW was transported to the home of Steven W. Stull (already creator of the Airwolf helmet and flight suits replicas) in Dawsonville, USA. Steven has sanded down the paint and is now working from scratch to re-create the most famous helicopter in TV history.

Apart from the paint job, the difficult task of re-creating specialized body parts and weapons requires subject matter assistance which is being provided by Roy Nelson and Clark Van Hoten to ensure 100% accuracy.

This is all in the works for a Memorial Day unveiling. There are two project phases: the exterior and the interior. Initially the exterior will be completed for a hanging display (first the body parts, then the weapons). Then, perhaps a year later, they´ll take it down and build out the interior for ground-level display.

The location for this will be a museum in the USA. The name of the museum and its precise location have yet to be announced on Memorial Day (May 29th) by the owner. Until then it is a closely guarded secret, but there´ll be a contest out of guessing where the museum is going to be on http://www.airwolf.tv with some magazines and tickets to the museum as a prize.

google tells me that

"Airwolf itself was a highly modified Bell 222b, with a number of fibreglass and aluminium sections fitted to give it its unique look. In the TV series Airwolf may have been capable of supersonic speeds, but in reality, the numerous additions resulted in only slowing the helicopter's speeds! Sadly, the aircraft used for Airwolf crashed in Germany in 1991 (however, most of the specially built modifications are still in existence in the depths of Universal Studios). "

Airwolf rules!!!

I can still remember running around the school field with my arms out stretched singing the theme tune whilst machine gunning dinnerladies and throwing water bombs at the girls.

Happy days :)

Have the school got a restraining order now? ;)
