3 hours at silverstone rally school

high adrenaline, skid control, rally stages etc etc

Today I was asked "what are you going to do if he says you are going to hard at it"

and my reply was "he can't do a lot from the passenger seat can he?"

Says it all really.

Sadly, I don't have anyone to take pics, if anyone is in the area after 1pm, pop down and take some for me and I'll buy you a pint.

Wish me luck!

Apologies, I have been mega busy.

The day was excellent. Arrived at about 12.30 for some pre-driving briefings, talking through loose surface slides and turns. The day was VERY hot and so lots of dust to kick around.

Starts off with some tight handbrake turns were a mis-spent youth in sainsburys carpark comes in handy. Then moving on to powerslides in the dust, and finally to figure of eights.

We were driving Mkii escort turbo's, full rally spec and not a trick or toy in sight. No power steering or servo-assisted brakes, a proper car!

During the 8's I managed to kick up so much dust that everyone had to dive inside, must have pissed off the bloke in the M3 cab who left his roof down (it was an accident mister, honest :D) I have a vid of this as well.

Then a full stage around the whole course, hammering it around while the instructor taped his mouth shut and went along for a ride.

Ended up finishing around 5ish and a short stint home.

No amount of words can describe the day as well as the pics and vids so I will put those up somewhere tomorrow for you all to take a look at.

Big thanks to the silverstone rally school team and to John for missing out for a fellow member.

Fantastic mate, really glad it was worthwhile. I'm also really glad it went to someone on here as I'd probably never have heard back if it had have gone to some random on Ebay. Still gutted, but my weekend was equally awesome, although I'm suffering now from it, and back to work tomorrow :(
