jason m
You might be right on the 100RON - I was just offering a possible explanation on why the question may have been posted. Obviously the ecu can run on less than that as we don't have 100RON at our pumps. Really...so what were all the Jap Import owners doing before Tesco99 OR even Optimax....?? I think youll find that Jap cars are tuned to 100RON, although im sure that the ECU has a map for fuel less than 100.
Stonkin
They sell it at the big tescos at the meadows where a big marks & spencers is, on the way to the a331 (aldershot) i always use it
supraaaaaaaaaa
why not just use a can of octane booster in the standard fuel ? as its the same thing and costsabout the same ime {not with jap cars though}

Jake
why not just use a can of octane booster in the standard fuel ? as its the same thing and costsabout the same ime {not with jap cars though}Costs about the same? I don't think that's right mate. Don't they typically raise a tank of fuel by something like 2 octane points? Two octane points is 0.2 RON It doesn't raise 95RON to 97RON as the (deliberately) misleading might make you think.

Gary
I always use tescos 99ron, yesterday was the first time I have paid over a pound a litre - 100.9 pence to be exact! Not gonna cry about it tho as since i've gone BPU I seem to get the same or even slightly better mpg than before.
stupra
I use it all the time in my BPU, or optimax. The car doesn't feel as good on the BP ultimate, i only use that if i cant get to Tesco or Shell.
Kittyclaws
I use it in both the Mazda 6 and ford ka, which i use for work, and i ring the nuts of the litle ka at times, not blew up yet,
