is that the confusion then? people think that unless you get malaria from them they aren't mozzies?

I wish I had 1 bite, got 4 in one place all right next to each other, areas swollen a good 3 inches across and is bright red. then several others on my arms and back all swollen to an inch each I'm going insane they itch so BAD ARGH

could have been a horse-fly/cleg but they're much bigger so you'd have seen it i think.

my girlfriend was plagued by mozzies in Corfu last year and each bite was over two inches accross, luckily they didn't bother with me :D

Mosquitoes are small insects, which make a high-pitched noise when they fly. There are several types of mosquito in the UK. Each type looks different and bites at different times of the day. The most common type in this is called the Culex, which bites at night.

So there.:)

I have a mozzy bite on each elbow at the moment.

One from Turkey and one from Italy.

Matching jet-set mozzy bites, how cool?;)

Well you learn something new everyday.

Seriously though, they are the most annoying things to get, so god damn itchy. And that's only one, christ knows what you're going through Rosie. ;)

OK, I get bitten when we walk the dogs in the woods behind my house, there is a brock of some sort that looks a bit minging in places so there are millions of whatever they are around there. We're both covered in bites and they are tiny things really so you don't even see them :(

We are going to Alice Holt tonight instead.

Definately not horse flies. I used to love killing them. We'd have competitions to see who could get the most in an hour. My record was 54.

heres one for you tim, i have mild sunburn on by back, from sat, last night it was itching so bad i couldnt sleep, why does it itch??

It's because the skin is dying off and new skin is forming to replace it.

As it grows it makes the nerves tense and twitch which makes it feel itchy.

As you scratch it it removes the dead skin enabling to new to replace it and flourish.;)
