Matt B
All, May sound like a stupid question but can someone tell from the pics on the link below what type of brakes they are? The reason I ask is I always assumed as my car was a J-Spec it had J-Spec brakes, however as I've been looking into getting UK Spec rear discs I read that on the facelift models post 97. The larger brakes were fitted as standard...?? Cheers Look under Original Brakes link.

Matt B
Okay cool:cool: Thought I may have been mistaken, I was going to say that if they were the larger ones I was not very impressed with there performance...
SkyJawa
Defo the smaller ones, as apart from the sticker look pretty much like what came off mine. And each day the UK's are getting more awesome! So glad I did the change!

Reg The pad shape is the same, I have read that the pad material (stock) is different though (the Lexus pad is much softer and not as suited to fast road driving). If they're selling you uprated pads then that's not an issue, you may want to check about that though.
Need4Speed
Those are J-Spec sliding caliper brakes and the pad shape is the same as the GS300. The UK calipers are proper opposed-piston ones. Have a look here http://www.sixplus.co.uk/suprabrakeswap/ for the difference on the front brakes. Who invented sliding calipers and why? SimonB
loads of 97 on cars are running on standard 16's and the smaller brakes as in your picture. Facelift RZ had big brakes as standard, the RZ-S it was optional.
