Engine bay fusebox: Fan fuse question

Hi guys,

I just opened the fuse box in the engine bay as I was planning on doing an ECU reset. however I noticed a fuse lying on it's side in the middle of the box, a large 30A one. Needless to say there was a fuse missing at the front of the box, labelled fan 30A so I plugged the fuse back in, now the fan kicked in immediately, and hasn't yet gone off. The thing is, the engine isn't hot, has been run only to get the car out of the garage, and not even warmed up. Does this sound like normal behaviour or is something amiss?

The fan is the one behind the radiator, not the viscous fan the one lower right as you look from the front.

I don't even know why or how the fuse had come loose

Thanks in advance.

Mike

I wish to know this also...

Since my fan never turns on...the little one to the right ..

Not check my fuse´s yet...probebly should then..

Whats the little fan for anyway ?

Ulrick,

I've just been reliably informed that this si for your Air Con.

QUOTE from Carlos_Hathcock

It is there because you have 2 radiators there.

Working from the front right of the car, the first one and very thin is the air con fan, the next one and alot thicker is the normal engine fan.

When you are sitting in traffic on a hot day it comes on to increase the air flow over the rads to keep the air con nice and cold, as well as the engine temps down.

Try turning on your air con when it's hot and seeing if it comes on.
