Todays lesson: Don't paint wheel hubs with caliper paint

After wire brushing and painting my wheel hubs a few months ago the car developed a shudder at 80mph and above.

It was like my car had tourette syndrome and square wheels.

As I had my wheels balanced at the same time I assumed it was this at fault.

To day myself and a mechanic cut off the paint layer over the hubs and rebalanced the wheels.

Not surprisingly I feel like a prize c*nt and the cars runs perfect.

135mph on the way home and not a problem.

DONT paint your hubs (Or be careful and use the correct paint)

hehe, what did you do use half a can on each wheel and let it all drip to the bottom half of the hub ? :D

Surely paint on the hubs wouldn't make any difference. You don't mean that you painted the face of the hub that the wheel mates too, do you?

Ah haaaa....in that case I retract my gnat and add a nit:)

You might all be taking the piss, but i might have kinda just done this! I painted my passenger side calipers and HUBS, this week, ready for my new wheels.

The wheels still sit fine on the hub and there is no paint inbetween the wheel and hub, i kinda went round them very neatly. But i have painted the whole hub, just not the face. Is this bad?
