SUPRASUZUKI
Currently running a TT auto with 350BHP (flywheel). It's got a Kakimoto cat back pipe on it (sounds lovely) and an HKS intake system (soon to be replaced). I believe it's still got the first cat in place as the boost is maxing out at ~0.9 bar, it passed the last MOT no prob's and the downpipe looks like it's been on there forever. Is it worth the BPU mod? More questions to follow if the answer's yes......

SUPRASUZUKI
That was quick!! How much extra power do you make?
Peter P
I thought BPU was a number of mods as opposed to just a mod?! Not trying to be picky but just what I interpreted! Yes worth doing though mate and your nearly there by the sounds of things! BPU = induction, exhaust (downpipe/doube de-cat), boost controller, uprated fuel pump, de-limiter (for the jap specs), cooler grade of spark plugs and no doubt more i've forgotten!! BPU is graded as well isn't it?! sure i've seen BPU + and ++ and +++ around the place!! Either way, anything to help free up a few more ponies can never be a bad thing IMHO! Only thing to bear in mind is when your remove the cat's it'll show up any turbo weakness because of the reduced pressure so if you get some smoke afterwards that could point to knackered (or tired) tubbies (again just what I picked up so only my advice not gospel!) Hope this helps a bit anyway! Cheers, Pete

You don't need a delimiter in less you want to go over 112MPH but you do need a FCD (Fuel Cut Defender) which allows you to raise your boost pressure without the ecu cutting in. Also as far as induction goes the stock one has been proven to be very good! But do a search its been cover many times
chilli
I'd say yes, do it!!! don't throw away the stock induction kit without a plan for something better, I'm thinking I need to revert to stock or do something proper. BPU feels much more urgent, but shows up problems with grip (and brakes) much more! Hence for me, bpu has lead to a knock on affect of needing a wideband o2 to make sure everything is safe and RLTC to help keep the thing on the road properly... all good stuff but it is a slippery slope lol not much is essential though, just do: Plugs, De-cat (+ restrictor if j-spec or +ebc if uk spec) FCD (Thor VFCD) Walbro pump Boost gauge
letmeshowyou
definitely worth doing. Its awesome!
Suprasteve
i think you've probably got the picture but just incase you hadn't.....YES DO IT, DO IT NOW !!!!!!!
Nic
As said already, defintely worth doing, first thing to do though is check the condition of your intercooler, if it is the original one, then it could well be in a very sorry state. If it is then it would not be wise increasing boost until it is replaced. Something also to note, upping the boost will decrease the life of your turbos and can highlight other worn out parts (eg. old radiator, worn oil seals, perished hoses, etc.) Don't let me put you off, if done correctly it is well worth the investment, just preparing you for any unforeseen problems, you may or may not encounter. SUPRASUZUKI
Thanks all for the views. I reckon it's something I'll tackle later in the year when my wallet's healed a bit.

SUPRALOOPY
and an HKS intake system (soon to be replaced). WHY i still can't see a problem with these?
SUPRASUZUKI
and an HKS intake system (soon to be replaced). WHY i still can't see a problem with these? I just feel more comfortable with OEM levels of filtration.
