Digsy
OK, here's a topic for discussion: Since remakes seem to be in vogue at the moment, what is the movie you think would benefit most from a big Hollywood makeover? Personally, I'd like to see an accurate (there goes Hollywood, then ) fully CGI'd up remake of The Dambusters, as its my fave film anyway. Would be nice to see a full colour, surround sound version. ..and I'd be able to giggle at all the kids saying "wow, the ending's just like Star Wars"

Charlotte
Possibly something like Midnight Cowboy but they'd only butcher it like they do with all remakes.
how_supra
The flight of the navigator would be quite cool if they re-made it.

Ian C
Hey, I want to see the Poseidon, can't beat a disaster movie, I used to love Meteor and Crack in the World and all that shite I'd like to see remade.... Silent Running Actualy, 2001. Heresy I know and 99% chance of it being awful, but done properly, woooo, what a scifi film that would be. More plot and less dragging out of special effects, the end wouldn't be as bonkers, the visions you could create when travelling through the Monolith using CGI and then the ending would seem all the more bizarre due to coming back to what looks like normalcy. -Ian
Thorin
How about remakes (and sequels for that matter) you wish they'd never made! Blues Brothers 2000.
Elliot
Yeah that would be good! Who would play conan? I'm a massive Conan fan! From what I've read Arnie was actually contracted to do another 2 or 3 films (in his prime) & theres been talk for years about him doing a follow up as the ageing King etc. I reckon the only "actor" who could probably pull it off would be The Rock! I know he was cheesy in The Scorpion King, but if the director was a proper fan it would be an 18 with loads of blood & guts & no cheesy lines / facial expressions. That, or get an unknown in. Pete
aren't they a bit The old ones were a bit lame, but imagine how cool they could make the demons and monster with CGI. Jason and the Argonauts would be another cool one. Minatour and Medusa
Mike
Jason and the Argonauts would be another cool one. Minatour and Medusa ..and not forgetting Clash of the Titans!
Ian C
All of them. Except Dawn of the Dead which was cracking. Agreed! Brilliant film. Most remakes are shockingly bad. Look at Amityville - it goes "intro credits, ghost of girl". Oh, OK then, that'll be the ghost of the girl, that's that out of the way early, what's in the special features? Then watch the original, and get your hackles rising when that bloody rocking chair starts rocking with nothing and no-one sat on it. Brrrrr. Dare I say The Italian Job? Daston
The one that pissed me off the most was War of the worlds talk about how to destroy a good book then he had the guts to say it was nearly 100% like the book! Think there needs to be some good sifi/epic films or even a film of Metal Gear
Jive
or even a film of Metal Gear What? That would be crap, they'd have to have the actor unable to climb over a foot high metal pipe .. cos that's the way of the game .. plus half way through the hero would suddenly sprout blonde hair and answer to Raiden .. pfft!
