Jake
just points straight down mate Mine didn't. I had to calibrate it with GPS to get it anywhere near right.

TrickTT
Calibrate the speedo with the ignition switched on. The needle should sit 2-3mm the wrong side of the peg when you push it on to the shaft. Then gently bend the end of the needle over the peg so it sits on 0mph.

Mike_Mac
I need a picture of the above when the ignition is off please guys, as my rest peg has broken and i accidently took the needle off, i have placed it back on but for now i just want to check against someone elses speedo and try get it close to as possible as i can. pictures would be really helpful guys as a reference. I have just changed my speedo face for a UK spec and marked my speedo shroud where the speedo needle rests when the ignition is on (after moving it past the rest needle). If you turn your ignition on and then push the needle on to that position before moving it over the rest needle then you should be pretty much there. Mine was bang on when tested. I will be working on mine tomorrow morning and will try and get a good picture of the mark I made then. I'll try and get it posted by mid-day if that's any use? BTW - the position of the needle at rest isn't the key - it's when the ignition is turned on that it starts to recieve a feed.
Mike_Mac
Right - I've just been out and photographed the speedo face. I had marked my shroud where the speedo needle pointed to when freed from the needle stop peg and the ignition was turned on. The speedo needle should point in line with the orange line on the picture below. I will try and get a clearer photo when the Sun isn't blazing directly onto the speedo face tomorrow just to confirm it. Hope that helps.
