At auction, in the UK, unregistered, you could buy a similar car for 3k, maybe less. £6995 did they see you coming??

mista weava
Ok guys. thanks for all the info and amusing comments about my dinner - thought i would bring that up - oops another comedy double entendre! however, i digress... i have looked around and i am struggling to see the low mileage, pre facelift cars that are out there for 4K. the black car of stealthosts is up for £5200 without the goodies and its an auto. the red one offered to me by Carl earlier in the thread is up for £3995 on the mkivsupra owners club, but he has given me a price via email of 5.5k cash and between 3.5k and 4k cash with the mr2 (value say, £1500 on part-ex). to say i am confused about the value of these cars is an understatment. i emailed the top spec importer, Marc for info - i told him what i wanted and what we are prepared to spend - he has probably read it and either laughed or felt insulted. i asked him for a low mileage manual car, between £4-5K. as an importer is he going to be able to do this? We are keen CASH buyers. we dont want a pile of shit - we want a good quality, low mileage used example of an NA manual - colour not all that important, we just want it screwed togther right and it needs to be mainly standard. all these veilside bodykits et al, and no offence to those with such, and this is purely subjective, IMO TOTALLY ruin what is an elegant car. not particuarly interested in mahoosive rims either, as anythig above 18", compromises the handling and ride. 17" is what we are after - std rims, perfectly acceptable. huge drain pipe exhausts, unless quiet, or bunged are out to. maybe i am asking the earth, but surely there is someone out there with a car to suit our requirements, within the reasonable price braket suggested, of £4-5k. btw - that blue face lift soop is a beauty - but we are unwilling to spend that much ona car. cheers for all the help so far - its extremly useful and highly valued.
