[/ANGRY]car was parked at my girlfriends house yesterday, her neighbours have got 2 really nice lads aged 8 and 10yrs old.....they started to play football in the streets...right infront of the soop, as you can imagine i wasnt happy so watched them for a little while and they started to get a bit close so i went out and said nicely "lads i dont mind ya playing footy but just watch my car please, cause i dont want it scratched" i then stopped watching them....anyhow i wake up this morning and drive to work to find a ball mark on the spoiler, where the ball hit the car from an angle the ball has scratched the shit out of it...........im now extremely p1ssed off, what do i do go round and say here is the qoute for a respray or just leave it?

what cant they just play in a bloody field somewhere.......

First off I'm sure you ment kids?

I would go round there and say somthing although proving it was them would harder but the parents may give them a good telling off.

lol thats exactly what i meant.....im sure you meant "meant" and not "ment"

Unfortunately, we live in a different conciousness these days.

There seems to be a habit for parents to automatically defend their kids against any accusations whether the kids have done right or wrong..........

The kids witness this and then know they are safe to behave any way they please...

I had it with a group of local teenagers a few years ago.

They kicked in the back light of my car, I chased and caught up with them and made them pay for it (in £sd).

A few weeks later they came back pushed my wife's car into the sea (we lived right at the waters edge). It was written off.

We knew for sure it was them, the police knew for sure, but would their parents admit to believing it, NO WAY!.....

With my cynical viewpoint about kids, I'm afraid I would be thinking that after you had told them to be careful, once you disappered it may have been a game to them to try and actually hit your car. But that is just me, as I don't know these kids I am probably way off base.

Unfortunately, you can't win either way. Confront the parents and you could alienate them and end up putting your car at risk of more damage every time you park there...

I thought you were moaning about getting the lids off old jars!

Unlucky mate, I would speak to the parents, honestly, openly and explain exactly what happened. At the end of the day, if you didnt see it then you can't proove it was these kids but if you are amiable about it the parents may offer to pay for your spoiler to be sorted?!?

I think you are unfairly tarring all parents/kids with the same brush. Don't let a minority taint your view.
