Mark Ayling
Can anyone suggest the best place to get a wire from the cockpit to the engine bay - is there an easily accessible grommet somewhere I can get a wire through? TIA
Soonto_HAS_soop
Inside both inner wings you can find a big yellow grommet, that seems to serve absolutely NO PURPOSE. Take it out, cut the "Nipple" (sits and waits for the laughs to start) off and feed the wire through. The drivers side one is easiest IIRC. Look into your drivers side inner wing from in the bonnet (small hole where some GZ stuff should sit) and you should be able to see it. It is a bit of a struggle to get into the right position within the car to see them, but they are there. Ben.. Edited to Say: look at http://www.MKIV.com under tech articles and boost gauge installation. Read down a way and it shows you the pictures of feeding the vacuum tubing through the yellow grommet. Wez
You can also feed wire in through the passenger side where the main wiring loom goes through the bulk head, the wire then comes out just by the ECU in the passenger footwell. Can be tricky but leave a neat job when you take the time.

Terminator
I believe there is a big grommet above the brake peddle too.

Ian C
You can also go through the driver's side wing. There is a big hole there that carries some other cables and utilitising a bit of sellotape and a twangy thing (I have an old wire coathanger) you can get the wire into the driver's footwell. Makes it all very accessible and very neat. -Ian
