snoot
I'm gonna put a Cusco front brace on tomorrow, do i need to remove those black metal rings around the top of the front shocks or does the brace just bolt over them?
Daston
think it just goes over the top can't remember if my NA had tho's
Ian W
don't see why it won't just bolt over the top, mate.

UltraFlynn
So do you just undo the bolts which go into the black metal rings, then put the strut brace on and put the bolts back in? Simple as that is it? My worry would be that I'd undo the bolts and something would drop out underneath the car!

imi
Is that the way they are supposed to be installed? OR do you turn the blue rings the other way round?? 2nd Question - The Strut brace ends are angular...do these need to face the front of the car or the rear of the car?? LeeT
Is that the way they are supposed to be installed? OR do you turn the blue rings the other way round?? 2nd Question - The Strut brace ends are angular...do these need to face the front of the car or the rear of the car?? Yes thats how it is supposed to be installed. You'll see it will only go on one way. Im quite sure it is offset to the rear of the engine bay too otherwise it will hit the throttle cable bracket:)
Class One
Funny this, the 1st pic in the thread is my engine.

SupraStar 3000
btw: after removing the bolts don't jump in the car or disturb the car untill the bolts are back on.
imi
no its right, it will only go on one way Hmm now i'm confused.... If you look Rajinder's pics and LeeT engine pics...the install are different. imi
LeeT
Hmm now i'm confused.... If you look Rajinder's pics and LeeT engine pics...the install are different. imi probably an older and newer version strut bar? If you think about it logically, the bar is a set length so the ends can only bolt in one way round so as to make the bar fit. Also the 3 bolt hole pattern will determine which way the ends are orientated hope that makes sense?
imi
Agree with you LeeT. I know i've installed it the right way round. I just need to check whether the offset faces the REAR or the FRONT.
mr lover
the one on my car could only be put on one way as lee said

I just need to check whether the offset faces the REAR or the FRONT. i'd say rear otherwise it will possibly hit the throttle cable bracket on the intake manifold?
