JamesArup
Evening all, When I bought my car it had done 45,625 miles, but I swear that it's still counting up in KM's. I've only had the car about 2 months, and my drive to work each day is about 8 miles (round trip). My mileage now reads 48,700. There is NO WAY I have done 3,000 miles in 2 months! I did 7,000 miles a year in my old car covering the same distances! I know the clock was adjusted because when I took the dash out, the original value in KM's was written ontop of the ODO unit (70,000 odd km's). Is it possible that the display has been correctly adjusted to show miles, but has been counting up in KM's ever since? Cheers, J

JamesArup
LOL .... Fair Point!! It's no biggie I guess ... Just kind of annoying as it looks like it's done more miles than it really has - bit of a PITA when it comes to service records and if I ever want to sell it (not likely )! blackmax
Mine only reads about half the miles i'm covering.. work that one out... must be the wheel size I guess..??.
Need4Speed
Mine only reads about half the miles i'm covering It's double converting the kms to miles - you need to move a wire. Mine did this and I spotted it when I thought it was only doing 14mpg on a steady drive:eek:
blackmax
Any idea which wire you move... I scared myself to death when I got 72miles to £20..!

Need4Speed
can't remeber which wire, but Pete Betts is a hell of a good source for this sort of info. See TRLPerformance.

THOR Racing
All these problems are simple to rectify with a bit of patience and a soldering iron. I've lots of info on my sites. http://www.trlperformance.com http://www.thor-racing.co.uk/TRL/dsc.html Pete
JamesArup
Ahhh, nice one - Thanks for that Pete .. I'll have a read through in a mo. I just drove to Bicester (to abuse the outlet shops) which is about 60 miles. My trip computer and ODO both say I just did 90 miles, so the problem is confirmed! blackmax
Well done Pete your a star.. at least I know how to get the dash off now if nothing else... Does anyone have any step by step guides for the Supra with pictures. When I had my FTO there were a few useful site that had Haynes style how to change a spark plug etc.. which was nice. AMG
I bought my import with 65k miles on the clock. I noticed i was doing more miles to work so took the dash off, as you do. I then found out that my ODO had not been converted to miles, just a bit of black tape over the KM light. Quite happy with that as now my car has only done the equivelent of 45k or so.
