Honestly mate, it all depends on the state of the roads you drive on (including the dreaded speed bumps), the way you drive, tyres (lo profile hard tyres will help them wear faster), loading in the car (including towing???).

 

By 100k miles they'll be worn enough to notice a difference when replaced, but the only way to tell is to take them off & get them onto a damper dyno that can work out their absorbtion characteristics.....

I have this stupid intermittent creaking from my rear driverside susp. It comes and goes and gets on my nerves. I figured that at 11 years old it might be time for a change anyway so I could justify some new ones.

there is an easy way to check if your shocks are shot no 1 take off shocks, no 2 replace with new, 3 drive the car if it feels better and no creaking, then they were fooked if anyone else wants any technichal advise don,t hesitate to shout me
