JohnK
Just recently my brakes have started squealing under light breaking, Im pretty sure its coming from the rears and it doesnt do it as much when its raining. Ive just had the wheels off and the pads have plenty left on them so its not the wear indicators. The fronts are new (disc and pads) I fitted a few months ago and are still fine. Any ideas what it can be?

Ian C
Stop from 140mph as fast as possible, that'll get rid of any surface imperfections causing squealing -Ian
dandan
Mine squeak under light braking too (uk spec). Had front pads changed for CW's ones and front and rear still squeak!!
Mad Ad
Get a small file and chamfer a small leading edge where the pad contacts the disc.
Jake
In my experience, what Mad Ad said might well help but also it may just be down to brake dust. Clean them out good and proper, it does the trick sometimes - don't ask me why, but it seems to work.
dude
If youve got some of CW's pads get some of his 'blue goo' off him mine dont squeal at all and thats with the anti rattle/squeal shims removed !!!!!!! Dude:flame Dev
Ian C
How did you find the brake pedal feel after removing the shims, Dude? -Ian

dude
Sorry Ian couldnt help it !!!!! Difficult to say as i changed the brakes to UK spec at the same time but everyone who drives the car now raves that the brakes are a lot better , i seem to have a lot of 'feel' for whats going on now and CW's front pads are awesome , cant wait to change the rears as well !! Ian C
Very funny, what no clutch pedal? Removing the shims for me was like getting a new brake system, I couldn't believe the difference. Then I added braided hoses and a Motul 600 flush and now I've warped my front disks again Bargain upgrade for UK-spec brake owners, it's under £100 and transforms the car. -Ian
