mr keef Posted May 24, 2006 Share Posted May 24, 2006 Hello all,i'm probably just alone here or mabye not,but i'v been a member on here for quite a while,and i hav'nt got a clue as to 90% of your first names,sometimes when im posting and asking someone a question etc,it would be nice to know and use your name.I know some members do know a lot of names etc from meets etc etc,but just thought it might be a good idea to be able to put your first name,next to your avatar. Things have moved on considerably since those days but the fabled "username" is still used very widely. Thorin Posted May 24, 2006 Share Posted May 24, 2006 incidently people are never too sure how to pronounce Thorin, some people say it more like "Torin", whereas I would prounce the "th". I wouldn't use it these days but it stems back from the first ever time I'd used the interweb and needed a username. I'd read The Hobbit at the time and was pissed off when Thorin died. Too much hassle to change it now. I don't mind particularly being called Thorin at meets, it does sometimes get a little confusing between myself and the member formally known as mcanny... especially as both our good ladies are also called Angela.
