TRD3000GT
So im getting hold of these units and will be wanting to fit them soon.. Ive read through the instructions and it does not look stupidly complicated only Im a bit unsure what the GAIN is all about... Something to do with the activation of an aftermarket wastegate.. can any of you shed more light and may be even help me set the unit up? Whats the estimated time in fitting and setting up the Bitz SBC-iD III & Power Meter ?
SkyJawa
Gain is how quickly the unit spools the turbo up. 5-15 is normal, at 5 the boost comes in pretty quick, at 15 it comes on slightly more progressive. I fitted my ID and powermeter in an afternoon - takes a bit of faffing but nothing too tricky
TRD3000GT
So.. As Im running a single with the lag etc etc Id want to put the gain right down... Im not sure I could handle my turbo being nice and progressive 1 is the quickest setting and 15 is the most soft/long setting?
Clarkey
Why don't you just ask Matt Harwood ?

SkyJawa
http://mkiv.com/techarticles/blitz_sbc_id/index.html Got it round the wrong way - 5 is progressive and 15 is faster! Doh!! If you have a look @ the manual on MKIV.com above it can be set anywhere between 0-100 but 5-15 is recommended for actuator type wastegates. So you will probably find a different setting works better if you have an external wastegate............
Dragonball
There was a thread on these settings some time ago Chris - but I have set up a few so if I can help Beware when first setting up that you take the boost controls off auto and on manual Also - checkout if you be on W/G setting now with your set-up Cheers
