D3xt3r
Does anybody have some links to an UK Lotus Message Board? Especially the Elise ones as I'm thinking about buying one from the UK.

Alex
I'm thinking about getting a cheap MKI Elise an dropping in an Honda ITR engine or a new K20. Been done a few times with good results...also decat it...the cat's on the MKI's had a tendancy to destroy the back of clamshell when they failed... D3xt3r
Yeah I think its just the quest for less weight Bought a Supra TT was too heavy. Now Ive got an MR2 Turbo with some mods. Lots of power but still heavy :/

Lots of power but still heavy :/ How much is an MR2 T? Weight wise? I believe that they could happily use the J-spec 2pot brakes for extra braking I've been thinking for ages about an MR2T for a project car...be interesting in your views on it's trackability....vs say an Elise. D3xt3r
Depends on if its a T-Bar or Hardtop but all are above 1250kg so not really light as a MKI Elise is under 700kg. Powerwise a nicely tuned MR2T will own the Elise but yeah he can brake later and have faster speeds through the corners. So on small windy circuits it will be the far better choice even in the small version. If you put more power in the Elise like 200 or more through an engine swap the MR2 wont have a chance. JamesG
This is the one you want: http://www.seloc.org/ A lot of the owners on there have had Honda or Audi engine replacements.
D3xt3r
Yeah found it now It seems those conversions are crazy expensive and there are nearly no DIY Kits available. And the ones that are want for some steel stuff 6000€ or something like that. Thats totally crazy.
Snooze
You could try http://www.lotus-on-track.com - I have a couple of Elise-owning friends who are members, but I think they charge for membership?
