Whitesupraboy2
ok i have a NA. My two outer lights work as brake lights and tail lights. My two inner lights dont do anything, they just sit there being pretty! one of my reverse lights has been converted to a Fog light. I just wondered would splicing the wires off to the inner lights that are not being used work to get the 4/5 tail/brake lights. As looks so much better and want to sort this. Me and Steve W2 are going to do this holding hands seeing as his the same and he gets scared easily!

Once i get myself sorted i'm going to made the inner 2 brake fog and tail. All i did was splice the wires together and then us heat srinking tubing to seal it or you could use bullet connects. dandan
Steve I've just come in from doing my rear light modifications this evening. I did it so all 4 act as rear lights and brakes, but inner two also act as fogs when required. Used the wiring diagram provided by Pete: http://www.thor-racing.co.uk/TRL/fcon.html Best give that a go if you want fully functioning setup. Sorry didn't reply to pm regarding susp, been mega busy...will do in a mo.
Steve W2
Cheers mate, will have to have a word with WSB2 and see when would be a good time to have a go at this. I think the philosophy is if there is two of us doing it we can't possibly mess it up. Unfortunately, it's probably more of a case of the blind leading the blind:) I will try over the Chrimbo break if poss (meaning not too drunk). Whitesupraboy2
steve i looked at this, we dont want to get the fog lights converted to that as well otherwise we will have 3 fog lights and no point in that! (well i will anyway as a reverse light is converted!) i wonder if we can just convert the brake light and tail light part...anyone wit answers to this it would be gratefully recieved! I can play with wires as well it's just getting the time to sit and think about what it is I actually need to do and then have a look at the wiring in my car to see what it looks like. We may still give you a call though:)
dangerous brain
Does the above solution sort out the bloody annoying brake light out warning light issue (ie any time the fogs are on it lights up the bulb out warning light or in my case left it on permanently) that I found when I did this MOD without the relays?
dandan
I'm not 100% sure about what method you have used, but now (as in diagram) i dont get any warning lights. Hope this helps Dan
dangerous brain
Cool I'll give it a go if it dont work then all i lose is the price of a couple of relays which I'm assuming I can get easily enough.
SimonB
You do get the warning light come on if you have the fogs on and press the brake pedal. I've never got round to fixing that...
dandan
I am sure I've never had any warning lights on. Drove home last night in the fog and i don't remember seeing any!!
dangerous brain
Ah so the light only comes on when you brake with the fogs on? Thats acceptable. Far better than on all the time which is so so annoying. The reason that a lot of peoples dont come on is that when they do the cheapy conversion some leccies take the bulb out of the warning light but I prefer to keep my warning light so I dont drive around with faulty brake lights. SimonB
The warning light comes on the first time you hit the brakes with the fogs on and then stays on until you turn the ignition off and on again. It's fine if you don't have the fogs on though. That's what mine does anyway. I think there's a way of stopping it, but I never got round to it, because I hardly ever use the rear fogs anyway. dangerous brain
Well that'll do for me as at the mo I got no fog lights
