paul mac
the small fan in the rad cowl is extra cooling i dont think it has anything to do with the air con that has its own fan on the front of the air con heat exchanger, i couldn't tell you at what point the small fan cuts in just ignore it
Kaan W
Can anyone tell me what this fan is for as mine comes on as soon as I switch the ignition on and stays on. All I have removed is the auto box because its being repaired and aircon but didnt think this has nothing to do with it but I maybe wrong. Im not starting the engine btw. Dnk
Its extra cooling for the engine coolant, go to the home page then into the repair manuals and look at page 29 of the cooling system section, all you need to know is in there It shouldn't come on till over 90 degrees C so yours isn't working correctly and will burn the motor out or melt wires if its running all the time Edited July 6, 2012 by Dnk (see edit history)
Kaan W
Its extra cooling for the engine coolant, go to the home page then into the repair manuals and look at page 29 of the cooling system section, all you need to know is in there I have read it but just thought as its positioned over the trans cooler on the bottom of the rad I thought it was connected to transmission tempreture sensor or something. And as ive taken my box off I thought it must be sensing no fluid or something and switching it on. Any other reason why its randomly just coming on as it sounds awfull and the engines still cold! Dnk
Read the info again as it clearly states at the very begining what to check if the fan is on all the time Check the cooling fan relay, ECT switch etc Edited July 6, 2012 by Dnk (see edit history)
