Supragal
I saw a mad colour parrot the other day, how much work are they to look after? Could I train one to shout at my puppies when I'm not there to see what they are destroying?
jamesmark
Without birds you'd have a house full of bees, wasps, spiders, insects, rats and mice... Which do you prefer?........... i am pretty sure that a bird will only ever try and catch a wasp or bee once before it cottons on that they might get hurt and not do it again, besides the day i see a bird thats agile enough to catch a wasp that will be a sight as for insects, we will let the mice and rats eat them shall we, so without birds we would not be any better off or any worse, we would just have really fat mice and rats and as for birds eating mice and rats somehow i dont think i am going to get an eagle or vulture come close to a residential area, might get a hawk or

"When you consider the number of insect eggs that hatch, it is a wonder humans are not drowning in bugs! These very bugs are delicious bits of food for birds. There are very few birds that don't eat insects. In fact, even so-called seed-eating and nectar-sipping birds will gobble up insects, although of course, some birds eat more bugs than others. Technically, spiders and earthworms are not insects but for the sake of simplicity in my mind and this article, please bear with me when I lump them together. Starlings, very few people's favorite birds, eat tremendous quantities of ants, spiders, wasps, and grubs! Remember this fact, when a huge flock descends upon your garden! You will certainly be left with far fewer insects when the birds leave for home." and "Wasps: many wasp species are parasites. Their larvae develop inside and kill insects such as caterpillars that might munch on your plants, so they can be good to have around. If you want to discourage them, attract insect-eating birds. Blackbirds and starlings are wasp-eaters."

Kittyclaws
thats quality Thanks lol We did save a house sparrow two days ago, our other cat is a bit of a hunter, the wife came back from shopping and caught him with the bird,, seemed alright, so we put it up for the night, so the RSPCA could collect the next day ( they were very busy that day)
